It'a pretty hard to muster the energy to whip up a home-cooked meal on a week night after a 14-hour day at work. It's neon impossible to even consider making the base sauce for it too. That's why we all love pre-made sauces - they add colour, moisture, flavour and texture to what has the potential to be an otherwise very bland meal. I'm as big a fan as the next person. There is a slight issue though - the vast majority of these sauces are really very very bad for us. Our body would prefer us to eat the bland meal (even if our tatse-buds are violently campaigning for some sauce).

I challenge you to start looking at the backs of your packets. Try to find a homemade, sugar-free, additive-free, non-pasteurised (kills all the goodness), citric-acid free (preservative for shelf-life) sauce in Sainsburys at 8pm on a Tuesday night.

The sauces below are raw, organic, sugar-free, additive-free, unpasteurised, preservative-free and crammed with superfoods - think spirulina, mesquite, goji berries, cacao and hemp seeds. They are:
